News!

Wow, what a busy term! I can't believe Santa is nearly on his way.

This term we had a big focus on Science and we learned all about Food Chains. We created information booklets in our Co-operative groups to share what we had learned with each other.

We also enjoyed learning all about water and created some very exciting experiments. Miss Lochhead put a water balloon in the freezer and we had the chance to feel it and compare ice and water. We just loved learning the Water Cycle Song!

This term we have been working very hard at our Gymnastics skills. We were able to create exciting and interesting sequences using rolls, balances, wide and long shapes! Some of us were even doing cartwheels and head stands! Look out the Olympics, Room 8 is coming!

As well as all of this, we had a visit from the Children's Parliament who were teaching us all about Children's Rights and the UNCRC (United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child). We took part in lots of exciting discussions and activities. Also, some of us got to take part in an interview to show how good we are at using GLOW. We now all have our GLOW passwords in our diaries so please feel free to try it out at home.

Finally, we have been working very hard at our Engineering Topic over the past few weeks. Frosty, Santa's friend, set us a challenge to design a new and faster sleigh for Santa. We have been working on these in our Co-operative groups, working sensibly together using the special equipment. We looked at what makes cars aerodynamic and tried to do this to ours. We can't wait to show Santa our finished sleighs.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year, Miss Lochhead and Room 8.
