Maths Week!

Room 8 really loved Maths Week as we got to explore pattern and improve our mental maths skills.
We enjoyed thinking of shape Patterns to create our own individual Paisley Patterns.  Well done Ryan Speirs for winning Paisley Pattern competition from our class!

We have been getting really good at our spider numbers, this is where we put a number on the board and think as many ways to make that number.  If you didn't spot our display at Open Doors then take a look at the picture below.

Lastly we had a challenge task.  We got given a sheet of circles and we had to colour them in. However we could only use 4 colours and the colours were not allowed to touch! It was harder than it looked!  Have a look at some of them below.

Term 3 so far

This term has been very exciting already!

We had an amazing trip to the a Royal Concert Hall yesterday to see Celtic Connections.  It was amazing to see so many schools there and to hear all the beautiful music 🎼.

On a Wednesday we got to quiz actual builders from Ashleigh Builders.  We got to look at actual house plans and ask all the questions we had about houses are built 🏠.

We have been enjoying our new Egyptians topic.  Learning about mummies has been our favourite part so far, especially learning about how they prepared the body!

A huge congratulations to Jamie and Selina for winning our Burns poetry competition.  They were fabulous at the Burns assembly.  We even got to taste some Irn Bru icecream 🍦 to celebrate Burns Day.  It was very yummy!

We have also been improving our ICT skills, using apps like Puppet Edu and making SWAYS on Glow.

We can't wait to see what else is going to happen this term, its been great so far!

Fun at the Library!

Primary 2/3 and 3a had a great time exploring the library and getting to know the staff.  They had a good rummage around the children's section and then got to hear some hilarious poetry by Roald Dahl.
Every child will be coming home with a membership form for the library....a great to develop their love of reading even more!
