Trip to Kelburn Country Park

Monday saw a break in the weather and Rooms 7, 8 and 9 set off for Kelburn Castle and Country Park.  The weather was perfect and when we arrived we were directed to the Old Hen House where we left our packed lunches and coats.

First we went to the secret forest.  There were lots of little houses to explore and a maze, but everyone managed to get back to the beginning without getting lost!

Next we took a walk down to the waterfall and on the way we could see the castle which had been painted in bright colours.

We had our lunch on the lawn with the sun shining and after that everyone was raring to go again!  We visited the shop and then we went to the stockade and some of us climbed right up to the top!

A quick play on the swings and it was time to get ready to go home.  After the bus journey home we thanked our parent helpers very much because we couldn't go without their help!

Excellent behaviour!

Mrs Wieland came to our class to give out certificates to everyone who had done well with their work and behaviour over each of the four terms this session.

Two children were absent but here we are with our certificates!

Olympic torch comes to Kirklandneuk!

One of the parents in our school, Derek Montgomery, was a torch bearer during the Olympic torch Relay. He carried the Olympic flame through Govan last Saturday and you can read his nomination story here.

He very kindly brought it into school and everyone had a chance to hold it. Everyone passed it round before we took the photo.  You can see the top half of the torch in the middle of the photo!

You can keep up to date with where the torch is on its journey with live video from the BBC.
